Connect your mParticle account to Facebook

Set up your mParticle account to share your app events with Facebook in order gain more insights about how users are interacting with your business. By passing more standard events to Facebook, you can optimise the targeting and delivery of your Facebook ads to drive more business outcomes.

To get started, go to the mParticle page in Events Manager and follow our guided instructions that help you select the app and ad account you want to use, and configure the app events that are relevant to your business vertical. You can also follow the instructions below.

Search directory

  1. Log in to your mParticle account and select Directory.
  2. Search for Facebook.
  3. Select Facebook.

Add Facebook

  1. Click + Add Facebook to Setup.

Add output

  1. Select the Event output.
  2. Click Add to Setup.

Configure event

  1. Give your event configuration a name.
  2. Select an environment. You can select either PROD or DEV, or choose to use the same configuration for both environments.
  3. Click Save.

Select input

  1. Select Inputs from the left menu.
  2. Select the + for one of your configured inputs, such as iOS or Android.

Connect output

  1. Click Connect Output.

Select Facebook

  1. Select your Facebook configuration from the drop-down.
  2. Click Next.

Add connection

  1. Click the toggle to set the status to Active.
  2. Click the lock icon so you can edit the Facebook application ID field. Copy and paste your Facebook app ID .
  3. Click the lock icon so you can edit the Facebook application secret field and enter the app secret found on your Facebook application's dashboard. Refer to mParticle's Facebook event integration docs for help with individual settings.
  4. Click Add Connection.
