Troubleshoot misconfigured click and impression tags

30/11/2019

If you've received a notification from Facebook Attribution about misconfigured platform tags, consider the following solutions:

  • Invalid Publisher or Site Information: The "s.a" (site field) in your click or impression tag has been set up incorrectly. This usually happens when you modify the preconfigured tag after copying it from Facebook Attribution. To check whether your tag was modified, go to Settings > Ad Platforms, then select the platform referenced in the notification. Click to see if the tag that appears in the Tag Preview section matches the tag that was implemented.
  • No Publisher or Site Information: The "s.a" (site field) in your click or impression tag, which is a required field, is not being sent to Facebook Attribution.
  • No Campaign Information: The "c.a" (campaign field) in your click or impression tag, which is a required field, is not being sent to Facebook Attribution.
  • Required Ad or Ad Set Information: The "a.a" (ad field) or "as.a" (ad set field) in your click or impression tag, which are required fields, is not being sent to Facebook Attribution.
  • Search Connection That is Misconfigured: Your click tag is misconfigured for traffic from a search campaign. The "c.a" and "p.a" values need to be the same for all search campaigns.
