Change your language, time zone, and other Google Ads account settings

30/11/2019

You can make changes to certain Google Ads account settings, such as display language, time zone, and number format. Keep in mind that adjusting these settings won’t change how people see your ads. This article explains how to change your display language, number format, and time zone.

Instructions

The new Google Ads experience is now the exclusive way for most users to manage their accounts. If you’re still using the previous AdWords experience, choose “previous” below. Learn more

How to change your display language

Your display language is the language you see within AdWords. To change the language that your ads are shown to, learn more about how language targeting works.

By default, your account will use your Google Account language. These directions explain how to set a different language for AdWords.

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.
  2. Click the gear icon and select Account settings.
  3. On the Preferences tab, next to "Language and number preferences," click Edit.
  4. Select the language in which you'd like to view your AdWords account.
  5. Click Save changes.

How to change your number format

Your number format changes how periods and commas are used when AdWords displays a number. For example, 2,000.50 vs. 2.000,50

Keep in mind

Not every possible number format is available for every display language. Also, some display languages let you choose only one number format, so depending on your language, this setting might not be editable.

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.
  2. Click the gear icon and select Account settings.
  3. On the Preferences tab, next to "Language and number preferences," click Edit.
  4. Select the number format you'd like to use (by country).
  5. Click Save changes.

How to change your time zone

Your time zone affects the time shown on reports, and it can affect other settings such as targeting.

To see your time zone:

  1. Sign in to Google Ads.
  2. Click the gear icon and select Account settings.
  3. On the Preferences tab, you’ll see your time zone listed under Account preferences.
Changes to your account time zone are irreversible, and may cause significant impact to your ad targeting and reporting. Your account time zone can only be shifted eastward, and once over the lifetime of an account.

If you are sure you want to update your time zone selection, please contact us to request a change.

How to change your currency

You cannot change your currency, which is used for billing and reporting purposes. AdWords allows just one currency over the life of the account.

You can see your currency in you Billing Transaction history:

  1. Sign in to Google Ads.
  2. Click the gear icon and select Billing.
  3. Click Transaction history on the left, and you’ll see the amount due with a currency symbol. This is the currency used throughout your account.
