You can block your ad from running next to certain types of content by choosing the Exclude Categories option below the Edit Placements section of your ad set. See a list of the categories.

Exclude categories

To prevent your ad from running within certain content categories:

1. Create or edit an Ad Set in Ads Manager.
2. Select Edit Placements in the Placements section.
3. Select Exclude Categories (below the list of Platforms, under Exclude content and publishers).

4. Check the boxes next to the categories you choose to exclude.

We will work to prevent your ad from appearing on the category you excluded. You can now finish and publish your ad.

Notes

• If you exclude the category Dating on Audience Network, for example, we will work to prevent your ad from appearing on dating apps and websites. However, we wouldn't prevent your ad from appearing on a news website next to an article about dating.
• Facebook will try to ensure your ad is not shown against the categories of content you choose to block, but cannot guarantee success in blocking your ad 100% of the time.
