Set automatic campaign start and end dates

30/11/2019

When you create a new Google Ads campaign,  your start date is set to "today" unless you specify otherwise. If you leave the start date as "today," your campaign will start as soon as your first ads are approved. But if you create a campaign and don't want it start right away, or know the specific date when you want your campaign to end, you can set automatic campaign start and end dates.

This article explains how to set automatic campaign start and end dates.

Instructions

The new Google Ads experience is now the exclusive way for most users to manage their accounts. If you’re still using the previous AdWords experience, choose “previous” below. Learn more

Keep in mind

  • Campaign scheduling is available for campaign types with the "All features" campaign subtype enabled. If you're using a "Standard" campaign subtype, you'll need to go to your campaign's Settings tab and switch your campaign subtype to "All features" in order to see scheduling options.

How to set start and end dates for your campaigns

How to edit a start date

  1. Sign in to your AdWords account.
  2. Under All campaigns, click the name of the campaign you want you edit.
  3. Select the Settings tab.
  4. Review your campaign "Type." If your campaign is marked "Standard" rather than "All features," click Edit to select All features and then click Save.
  5. Under "Advanced settings," click Schedule: Start date, end date, ad scheduling.
  6. Next to your current start date, click Edit. Note that the Edit link only appears if the start date is in the future.
  7. Enter your start date, then click Save. Enter start date

Once you set a start date, you can edit that date at any time until your campaign begins. After the start date has passed, it's no longer possible to edit that date. For example, if your start date is February 1, you won't be able to edit your start date on February 2. You can, however, still pause, resume, or remove your campaign

How to set an end date

  1. Sign in to your AdWords account.
  2. Click the Campaigns tab at the top.
  3. Under "All campaigns," click the name of the campaign to be scheduled.
  4. Click the Settings tab.
  5. Review your campaign "Type." If your campaign is marked "Standard" rather than "All features," click Edit to select All features and then click Save.
  6. In the "Advanced settings" section, click Schedule: Start date, end date, and ad scheduling.
  7. Next to "End date," click Edit.
  8. Enter your end date, or select None to have your campaign run indefinitely.
  9. Click Save.

When you select an end date, your campaign will end on that date at 11:59 p.m. (or 23:59) in the time zone that you've chosen for your account.
