When you live stream on YouTube you'll be able to see how your stream performs. You'll see different metrics depending on whether you use Stream now, Events, or mobile.

Stream now

When you use Stream now you'll be able to see the following metrics during the stream:

  • Watching now: See how many viewers you have at any given time. Peak concurrent is the highest number of concurrent viewers during a live stream.
  • Messages/min: Live chat messages per minute

Metrics will be available in YouTube Analytics 48-72 hours after your live stream ends. You can download the data as a CSV file. Note: Data in YouTube Analytics is based on Video ID.

You can sort the data by Live, On demand, or Live & on demand in YouTube Analytics in the Overview menu.

For more information about the available data, see the Watch time report.

Events

In addition to YouTube Analytics, you can also see your metrics in the Live Control Room for Events.

The graphs in the Live Control Room display the most recent 24-hours. You can download the complete data using the Download Report button after your event has ended. You'll able to see the following metrics:

YouTube Analytics

In YouTube Analytics you are able to sort by Live, On demand, or Live & on demand.

In Live streaming you'll be able to see Peak concurrents and chat messages. This report is available at the video level. Metrics will be available in YouTube Analytics for 48-72 hours after your live stream ends. You can download the data as a CSV file. Note: Data in YouTube Analytics is based on Video ID.  The data is processed and despammed and measures different information to what you see in the Live Control Room.

Note: To learn more about Super Chat reporting see the Manage Super Chat article.

Note: Interaction reports and revenue reports are not available when filtering for live. You will see this error message: This data is not available by live/on demand. Please select "Live & on demand" or switch to a different report.
