Supervised users can't be created or edited

30/11/2019

You can no longer create a supervised profile for controlling and seeing the websites someone visits.

If you already have a supervised profile set up, you can continue to use it. Your current settings will still work.

You can't:

  • Add a new supervised profile
  • Move a supervised user to a regular profile
  • Edit settings for a supervised profile
  • Approve or reject browsing requests
  • See supervised profiles' activity at chrome.com/manage

To manage the Chrome experience for your kid, create an account for them with Family Link.

Export your bookmarks

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Go to the supervised user's profile.
  3. At the top right, click More More.
  4. Select Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  5. At the top, click Organize More and then Export bookmarks.

Use your current supervised user

You can only use your current supervised user profile on a Chrome OS device, like a Chromebook or Pixelbook.

Know what profiles are supervised

  1. On your computer, at the top right, click the button with your name or People People.
  2. Click Manage people.
  3. On supervised profiles, you'll see People People.

Prevent supervised profiles from switching to an unsupervised profile

You can lock your profile to keep your information, passwords, and bookmarks private from other users.

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click the button with your name.
  3. Click Exit and childlock.

To switch to your profile, you'll need to sign in with your Google password.

To protect your privacy, share your computer with people you trust. "Exit and childlock" helps protect your privacy, but childlock isn’t a strong security block against strangers.
