Using the Art Tracks upload spreadsheet

The features described in this article are available only to partners who use YouTube's Content Manager to manage their copyrighted content.

To create Art Tracks for your recordings, you need to deliver the media files and metadata for the recordings. You can create art track assets by uploading files using the YouTube Music DDEX Feed or the “Audio - Art Tracks” bulk upload spreadsheet.

You can’t provide translated titles or artist names using the spreadsheet, nor a list of contributors. You need to use the DDEX feed to include these items.

To create Art Tracks using the spreadsheet:

  1. Download and install the YouTube CMS Uploader.

The YouTube CMS Uploader provides a graphical user interface that enables you to drag and drop files you want to upload to YouTube from your computer desktop.

  2. Download the spreadsheet template.

Choose "Audio - Art Tracks" from the Select content type drop-down list and click Download CSV. If the "Audio - Art Tracks" option doesn't appear, contact your Google partner manager.

  3. Enter the metadata for your sound recordings into the spreadsheet, one recording per row.

The spreadsheet template includes instructions about the data to add in each column. See Creating Art Tracks for information about how YouTube uses the metadata in the resulting Art Track. See Spreadsheet formatting guidelines for information about the proper format of the spreadsheet.

All fields need to be formatted as plain text, including fields whose values are dates or exclusively numeric (such as UPC).
  4. Upload the spreadsheet and the referenced media files using the CMS Uploader.

See File format for resources for details about the requirements for artwork and recording files.
