Applying policies for assets with multiple owners

30/11/2019
The features described in this article are available only to partners who use YouTube's Content ID matching system.

When different partners own rights to the same asset in different countries, YouTube applies in each country the policy of the partner who owns the asset in that country. The tables below provide examples of how YouTube applies policies to user-uploaded videos matching an asset with shared ownership.

If ownership claims overlap in some countries, you'll need to resolve the ownership conflict before any policy applies.
  Partner A Partner B
Ownership United States, Canada, Mexico United Kingdom
Match policy Block the content Monetize the content
Result A user-uploaded video that matches this asset is blocked in the United States, Canada, and Mexico (per Partner A's policy) and shown with advertisements in the United Kingdom (per Partner B's policy). Partner B receives the revenue from the UK views. No policy applies in the rest of the world.
