Navigate the new Google Ads experience

30/11/2019

This article applies to the new Google Ads experience. Determine which Google Ads experience you’re using.

If you’re using the previous AdWords experience, read Navigate the previous AdWords experience.

Welcome to the new Google Ads experience! Ready to take a look around? Let’s check out what you can do in your account:

To get started, you'll need to be invited to the new Google Ads experience. For now, we recommend using the Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Apple Safari browsers, where Google Ads has been optimized to work best. We also recommend turning off any ad blockers while you're using the new Google Ads experience, because ad blockers may cause problems with Google Ads loading.

Don't feel like reading? Take a tour through key areas of the new Google Ads experience, right in your account. Or, watch a quick video.

How to navigate your Google Ads account

To see subtitles in your language, turn on YouTube captions. Click the Settings icon at the bottom of the video screen, select "Subtitles," and then specify your language.

Instructions

Move among campaigns and ad groups

To move among your campaigns and ad groups, use the navigation panel on the far left-hand side. If you're on a smaller screen, the navigation panel is hidden by default. To open it, either hover your mouse over the left-hand side of the page, or click the arrow icon Open navigation panel

To filter the types of campaigns you see in the panel, click the 3-dot icon on the navigation panel. This also filters what you'll see in your main account workspace.

Move among pages in your account

To move among your main account pages, click items in the page menu, which is the bar along the near left-hand side of the page. The contents of the page menu change depending on whether you're at the account level or drilled down into a specific campaign or ad group. Only the options relevant to that campaign or ad group show in the page menu.

Get insights from Google

The Overview page is your starting point when you sign in. It reveals Google-generated insights for each level of your account—from your overall campaigns, down to a specific ad group. Adjust the date range, choose a campaign, or click a specific card detail to continue discovering more insights.

Create something new

To create campaigns, ad groups, ads, and keywords, or to add location targeting or ad scheduling, click the item you want to create in the page menu, then click the plus button  on the resulting page.

Use reporting

Access your performance reports by clicking the reporting icon  in the upper right corner of your account and choosing Reports or Dashboards

Access account tools

Access essential optimization and planning tools by clicking the tools icon in the upper right corner of your account.

See important alerts

Get the most critical account alerts the same way you did in the previous AdWords experience. Just click the bell icon Notifications in the upper right corner of any page in your account. For all alerts, not just the most critical, check the previous AdWords experience for now.

Manage billing and account settings

To go to your billing, account management, and notification preferences, click the tools icon in the upper right corner of your account. For now, billing opens in the previous AdWords experience, in a new tab. When you're done using it, just close the tab to return to the new Google Ads.

Get help

Find help by clicking the help icon in the upper right corner of your account and choosing Get help.

Give feedback

We'd love to hear your thoughts about the new Google Ads experience. To let us know what works for you and what could be improved, click the help icon in the upper right corner of your account, and select Send feedback.

How using the two Google Ads experiences works

Most changes you make will be reflected across both experiences. For example, if you add a new keyword, it's in your account whether you're viewing it through the new or previous experiences. However, for certain advertisers, changes you make to some reporting features aren’t reflected across both Google Ads experiences. To learn more, please see this article.

If you've saved any browser bookmarks for specific Google Ads pages, be sure to update them with the URLs of the new Google Ads experience.

If multiple people have access to your account, each can choose which experience to work in without affecting the choice the other signed-in users have made.
