Set up consolidated billing
Advertisers who work with multiple Google Ads accounts often have to juggle multiple invoices. Using consolidated billing streamlines the billing process by condensing multiple invoices into one monthly invoice. It also allows you to administer invoice updates on your own.
Before you begin:
- Read about consolidated billing to be sure you meet the requirements.
- To set up consolidated billing, you need to have a manager account and contact an online specialist to set up permissions. Once permissions are granted you can complete the tasks explained below.
- Consolidated billing requires at least one invoice setup. If you try to add an account to consolidated billing without first creating an invoice setup, you'll see steps to setup standard billing.
Put a new account on consolidated billing
- Sign in to your Google Ads manager account.
- Click the account that you’d like to put on consolidated billing.
- Once in that account, click on the gear icon
or the tools icon
, choose "Setup," and then click Billing & payments.
- On the "Account Setup" page, click the drop-down menu to select the country or territory where your billing address is located. Then click Continue.
-
Next, select a payments profile to pay for the account by searching for an existing profile by entering a name or tax ID in the search field, then clicking Continue.
-
To use a new profile to pay for the account, click Add new payments profile, enter your information and click Submit. This will default the account to the manual or automatic payment setting.
- After you’ve selected the payments profile, you’ll choose the invoice setup to consolidate costs for this account. Note that if your invoice setup is in a different currency, you won't be able to select it.
- Next, choose your service agreement then click Save and continue.
- On the following page you'll create an account budget. You can leave the default settings or fill out the budget amount, requested start date, and other information.
Tip
It's a good idea to add a purchase order number to help your finance department verify the order.
- Click the Save button.
- Soon after you save, you’ll receive any agreements by email. You must review and accept these before your ads can start serving.
Put an existing account on consolidated billing
If you've already set up billing for a Google Ads account, you can put this existing account on consolidated billing.
While most accounts can be put on consolidated billing, some can't be for various reasons. If the steps below don't match what you see in your account, contact your online specialist.
- Sign in to your Google Ads manager account.
- Click the account that you'd like to put on consolidated invoicing.
- Once in that account, click on the gear icon
or the tools icon
, choose "Setup," and then click Billing & payments.
- Click the Billing transfers link on the side of the page. There, you should see the invoice setup that is currently paying for the account.
- Click the pencil button
. Or, if the account you are adding uses manual or automatic payments, click Change who pays.
- On the next page, select when you'd like change to take effect, then click Next.
- Select the invoice setup that you'd like to link to this account. Remember: if your invoice setup is in a different currency, you won't be able to select it.
- Next, you’ll choose your service agreement and click Save and continue.
- Next, you'll create an account budget. You can leave the default settings or fill out the budget amount, requested start date, and other information.
Tip
If you put an existing account on consolidated billing, keep in mind that all costs accrued in the account before the billing change date won't be transferred to the consolidated invoice. In other words, only costs accrued after this change takes effect can be combined on the consolidated invoice. We recommend you pick the first of the month as a start date to avoid receiving multiple invoices for a given month.
- Click the Save button.
- Soon after you save, you’ll receive any agreements by email. You must review and accept these before your ads can start serving.
