Create call-only campaigns
This is an instructional article about how to set up call-only campaigns.
If your primary business goal is to get phone calls to your business, create call-only campaigns. Call-only campaigns allow you to focus on getting more calls straight from your ads. With these campaigns, you can use CPC bidding based on the value of a call to your business. You can also add your existing phone information to your new ads and attach select extensions to your call-only campaigns. For more information, start with About call-only campaigns.
Before you begin
To show phone numbers with your ads, add a verification URL when creating your ads. This URL should link to a landing page where Google can confirm the phone number you'd like to show on your ads. The phone number on your landing page must match the number you show in your ads. Learn more about Call-only ad requirements.

Create a new call-only campaign
To create your new campaign:
- Sign in to your AdWords account.
- On the Campaigns tab, click the +Campaign drop-down menu, and select Search Network only.
- Add a name for your campaign. To help you find your campaign later, you might want to indicate in the name that this is a call-only.
- Choose the campaign type Call-only - Ads that encourage people to call your business.
- Choose your networks, devices, and location targeting. Under "Devices," note that your ads will only appear on devices that can make calls.
- Under “Bid Strategy,” keep in mind that all clicks on your ads should match the value of a call to your business.
- Select any other settings you'd like for your campaign.
- Click Save and continue.
Create a new ad group
To create your new ad group:
- On the ad group page, enter the name of the ad group.
- Create your ad.
- Enter your business name. This should be the name of your company.
- Enter your business phone number. This is the number people will dial when they click your ad headline.
- Add your description text, and display URL.
- Enter your verification URL. This should be the address of a webpage that contains the phone number you entered above. This web page will be used to verify your phone number, and the domain of this URL must match your display URL.
- Select what type of phone number you would like to show on your ads.
- Enter keywords for your call-only ads. To see how often people search for those keywords, click Estimate search traffic.
- Enter your default bid. This is the most you'll pay per click for ads in the ad group. Keep in mind that your CPC bids should match the value of a call to your business, since all clicks on your ads will start a call from the device where the ads appear.
- Click Save ad group.
Note
In addition to the information you provide during ad creation, extensions, including location extensions, structured snippet extensions, and callout extensions, are also eligible to show with your ad.
Country-specific information
In some countries, you can use phone numbers that don’t cost the same as local numbers. This table shows which numbers you’re allowed to use (in addition to local numbers). If you use a non-standard cost number, when people click the call button a disclaimer will appear saying that additional charges may apply.

Missed call option (India only)
Users in India have the option to place a phone call directly, or select the missed call option. If a user selects missed call, their outgoing call is automatically disconnected. Shortly after, users will receive an automated call back. When users pick up, they will hear a prerecorded message asking them to wait while the call is connected. Google Ads will then place a separate call to the advertiser, and when both the user and advertiser are on the line, the calls will be connected. The advertiser will see a Google phone number as the caller ID when a missed call is placed.
