Manage ad suggestions

Ad suggestions can be controlled through the Recommendations page, where you can choose to apply, edit, or dismiss them.

If you apply any ad suggestions, they'll appear in the Ads & extensions page just like regular ads. If any ad suggestions became auto-applied 14 days after they were created, they'll appear with the tag “Auto-applied ad suggestion.”
If you dismiss any ad suggestions, these ads won’t appear, but you may still receive future ad suggestions.

Edit, pause, or remove ad suggestions

Any ad suggestions that you applied, or which auto-applied after 14 days, can be controlled just like regular ads—you can edit, pause, resume, or remove them. Learn how to edit, pause or resume, or remove an ad.

Opt out of ad suggestions

New Google Ads accounts automatically apply ad suggestions by default. If you don’t want to your ad suggestions to auto-apply, you can opt out manually. Previously auto-applied ad suggestions will remain active. You can edit, pause, or remove previously auto-applied ad suggestions from the Ads & extensions page.

Opt out at the account level

To opt out of auto-applying ad suggestions to standard Google Ads accounts:

Sign in to your Google Ads account.
In the page menu on the left, click Settings.
Click Account settings at the top of the page.
Click the drop-down arrow next to “Ad suggestions.”
Choose Don’t automatically apply ad suggestions.
- Optional: Provide feedback about why you’re opting out of auto-applying ad suggestions.
Click Save.

Bulk opt out at the manager account level

To opt out of auto-applying ad suggestions to one or more accounts at the manager account level:

Sign in to your Google Ads account.
Choose Accounts from the page menu.
Select Management at the top of the page.
Check the box (or boxes) to the left of the accounts that you’d like to stop auto-applying ad suggestions to.
Click the “Edit” drop-down arrow in the blue bar above the table, then select Change ad suggestions settings.
To stop ad suggestions from auto-applying after 14 days, choose Don’t automatically apply ad suggestions.
- Optional: Provide feedback about why you’re opting out of auto-applying ad suggestions.
Click Apply to save your changes.

Note: Opting out of ad suggestions means they’ll no longer auto apply 14 days after they’re created. You may still receive future ad suggestions on the Recommendations page, but they won’t auto apply—you’ll have to manually apply the ads before they start serving.
