30/11/2019

✅ Computer

You can help prevent accidental purchases from YouTube on your device by turning on purchase verification. Purchase verification means that certain information, like your Google Account password, must be entered on your device to make a purchase on YouTube. This setting is turned on by default, and applies on every device associated with your Google Account.

Note: If needed, you can always change or reset your Google Account password.

Turn on purchase verification

You don't need to manually turn on purchase verification — it's enabled by default at the account level. This means that any device associated with your Google account will be impacted when you turn on or turn off verification settings.

Turn off purchase verification

Select the option to remember your account when making a purchase on YouTube. This will disable purchase verification across all devices associated with your Google account.
Note: Disabling purchase verification may result in unauthorized purchases. By disabling purchase verification, you assume responsibility for all charges.

Re-enable purchase verification

You can restore purchase verification at any time from your YouTube account settings.
  1. Open the YouTube app or go to youtube.com.
  2. Select your profile photo > Settings Settings.
  3. Under "Account settings," select Billing & payments.
  4. Click Enable purchase verification.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

✅ Android

You can choose whether or not to allow “quick purchases” on your YouTube account. When the quick purchases option is turned on, any device which you are signed into will be able to make YouTube purchases without any additional verification.

By default, purchase verification is already turned on, and applies to every device associated with your Google Account. When purchase verification is on, that means certain information, like your Google Account password, is required in order to make a purchase on YouTube. Having purchase verification turned on can help prevent accidental or unauthorized charges. If you don’t want to require verification, see below for how to turn on quick purchases instead.

Note: If needed, you can always change or reset your Google Account password.
