Export data from YouTube Analytics

Export data from YouTube Analytics to analyze large sets of performance metrics. You can export data while looking at either a channel or a specific video. If you're a content manager, you can also download reports for multiple channels. Downloaded reports are limited to 500 rows. Use the YouTube Analytics API to download more than 500 rows of data.

Dates in exported reports are shown in Unix time, in milliseconds. To convert to a date format in a spreadsheet, use the following formula and format the cell as a date: [Unix time value]/86400000+date(1970,1,1).

Export data for a channel or video

Check out steps to export data below, depending on your version of Creator Studio.

Creator Studio Classic

  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. Click your account icon  and then Creator Studio.
  3. Click Analytics.
  4. Select the report you’d like to download.
  5. At the top of the page, click Export report.
  6. Select your preferred file format.

YouTube Studio beta

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio beta. 
  2. From the left menu, select Analytics.
  3. Click a card to view a deep dive of its data.
  4. At the top of the page, click the download icon .

Export data in Content Management System (CMS)

If you’re a content manager, you can use the Analytics tab of CMS to download data.

  1. Sign in to your content manager.
  2. Select Analytics
  3. Select the report you’d like to download.
  4. At the top of the page, click Export report.
  5. Select your preferred file format.

You can also choose from a variety of downloadable reports on the Reports tab of CMS to help you analyze videos, assets, claims, references, and more.

Export data from the YouTube Analytics API

You can also get data from the YouTube Analytics API, as well as the YouTube Reporting API. The YouTube Analytics API allows both channel owners and content managers to download custom reports of their YouTube Analytics data. The YouTube Reporting API allows you to download entire data sets in bulk.

 

To comply with GDPR, we have a new data retention policy. Reports from CMS and the Reporting API will be deleted 60 days after they are published to the UI. Historical data reports in the Reporting API will be available for 30 days from the time they are generated. Learn more about deleted content in YouTube Analytics.
