Cancel a reach and frequency campaign, ad set or ad

This guide is for the reach and frequency buying tool, which is gradually being rolled out to qualifying ad accounts only and may not be available to you at this time. If you are not familiar with the reach and frequency buying tool, learn more about deleting all types of campaigns, ad sets and ads.

Reach and frequency campaigns, ad sets and ads can't always be paused. If you can't pause your campaign, ad set or ad, deleting it is the only way to cancel it.

You can cancel your reach and frequency campaign at any time, but bear in mind that the reach and frequency tool can affect the price of ads across Facebook. Advertisers who regularly reserve campaigns that don't run may have their access to the reach and frequency buying type limited in the future.

Steps to deleting your reach and frequency campaign, ad set or ad:

Note: These steps are for deleting or cancelling a reach and frequency campaign only. If you are not familiar with the reach and frequency buying tool, learn more about deleting all types of campaigns, ad sets and ads.
  1. Go to the Ads Manager home page.
  2. Click to select either the Campaigns, Ad Sets or Ads tab. If you are deleting an entire campaign, choose Campaigns. If you are deleting a single ad or ad set, select either Ads or Ad sets.
  3. Find the campaign, ad set or ad that you want to delete from the list and click to tick the box to the left of the campaign, ad set or ad name.
  4. When you hover over the campaign, ad set or ad name, you will see several options appear below the name. Select the Edit option.
  5. When the edit window appears, you can turn the campaign, ad set or ad off by toggling the Active button off so that the toggle button turns from blue to grey.
  6. Click to select Confirm and close. This will effectively delete your campaign, ad set or ad.

Note: Your deleted campaign, ad set or ad will be deleted from your Ads Manager home page, but you can still see performance data for any deleted campaigns, ad sets or ads by adding a filter.

Steps to review performance data for a deleted campaign, ad set or ad:

  1. On the Ads Manager home page, click to select either Campaigns, Ad sets or Ads.
  2. Click to select Filters.
  3. Click to select Deleted in the Delivery section of the Filter drop-down menu.
  4. Once you've selected Deleted, you will be able to see performance data for your deleted campaign, ad set or ad.
