How can I use Lookalike Audiences to sell anywhere in the world?
To target your ads anywhere in the world, you don't need to put together complex data models.
If you know who your best customers are now, we can help you find similar audiences domestically, in another country or even internationally.
We call these lists of similar customers "Lookalike Audiences".
You can create Lookalike Audiences in one or more countries of your choice, a region, a trade area (e.g. European Economic Area, North American Free Trade Agreement), in app store countries or worldwide.
Here's how we find the right people abroad:
- Audiences. We'll create a Lookalike Audience abroad using your source audience. For example, Custom Audience, people who engaged with your Page or people tracked by your conversion pixel. You can include people from multiple countries in your source audience; our system will automatically optimise for them.
- Targeting. You can then choose to narrow your search further with demographic targeting. For example, by gender or age.
- Delivery. Analysing data throughout your campaign, our system will gradually improve its "delivery" and will only display your ads to the people who are likely to take the action you optimised for.
Can I exclude people from my audience?
Yes. For example, you could exclude current customers from a new customer acquisition campaign.
During delivery, the source audience is automatically excluded from your lookalike campaign.
You can also try a "tiered lookalike", where you test different bidding strategies by excluding different slices of your audience, For example, a 2% lookalike that excludes the 1% lookalike.
Should I target one country or multiple countries?
Targeting one advertising campaign in, say, "Asia", may result in a higher performance compared to running individual campaigns for each country in Asia.
This is because, as your campaign progresses, our system can better target your budget at the people most likely to take the action you optimised for.
It's also more convenient to only create one campaign.
After your campaign has ended, your metrics will likely give you valuable insights into the best markets for future campaigns.
