You can choose to create a dynamic ad in the single-image format, carousel format or collection format (limited availability). Use this guide to understand the design requirements for dynamic ads.

Supported objectives and placements

You can create a dynamic ad when you use Catalogue Sales as your objective. You can create dynamic ads for: products, hotels, flights, destinations, property and vehicles.

Dynamic ads can appear in the following placements:

  • Facebook
    • Feeds
    • Right column
    • Marketplace
  • Instagram
    • Feed
  • Audience Network
    • Native, banner and interstitial
  • Messenger
    • Home

Creative

Use these guidelines when designing your creative so that your ad looks high quality.

Images

Single image

  • Image ratio: 1.91:1 or 1:1 (Facebook, Audience Network, Messenger, Instagram)
  • Image size: 500 x 500 pixels or higher (recommended for all placements Facebook, Audience Network, Messenger and Instagram). 400 x 400 pixels is the minimum and will only show on Facebook.
Carousel
  • Minimum number of carousel cards: 2
  • Maximum number of carousel cards (desktop): 5
  • Maximum number of carousel cards (mobile): 30
  • Image ratio: 1:1
  • Image size: 500 x 500 pixels or higher (recommended for all placements Facebook, Audience Network, Messenger and Instagram). 400 x 400 pixels is the minimum and will only show on Facebook.
Collection
  • Image ratio: 1.91:1
  • Image size: 1,200 x 628 pixels (recommended)
Ad copy

Single image

  • Text (appears above the main creative): 125 characters (recommended)
  • Headline: 25 characters (recommended)
  • Link description: 30 characters (recommended)
Carousel

  • Text (appears above the main creative): 125 characters (recommended)
  • Headline: 40 characters (recommended)
  • Link description: 20 characters (recommended)
Collection

  • Text (appears above the main creative): 90 characters (recommended)
  • Headline (appears above the four products in the ad): 25 characters (recommended)

You can show more information about the items you sell by adding creative elements such as overlays or offers to your ad.
