Template tags for dynamic ads for travel (flights)

30/11/2019

Template tags allow advertisers who are creating dynamic ads for travel for flights, hotels or destinations to dynamically add information to their ads based on data retrieved from their Facebook pixel. For example, if a person recently searched for flights to San Francisco on your site, you could use the flight.destination_city tag to ensure that your ad includes that information.

Currently, the following template tags are supported for flights:

  • flight.destination_airport - The IATA code for the destination (e.g. SFO).
  • flight.destination_city - If provided, this will be the destination city name from your flight feed. Otherwise, it will be the city associated with the destination airport (e.g. San Francisco).
  • flight.origin_airport - The IATA code for the origin (e.g. NYC).
  • flight.origin_city - If provided, this will be the origin city name from your flight feed. Otherwise, it will be the city associated with the origin airport (e.g. New York).
  • flight.description - The description from your flight catalogue.
  • flight.price - The price from your flight catalogue.
  • flight.url - The flight URL provided in your flight catalogue.
  • trip.returning_departure_date - The return date for your flight (e.g. 2017-06-23).
  • trip.departing_departure_date - The departure date for your flight (e.g. 2017-06-20).

Template tags can be used to add dynamic information in the Text, Headline, News Feed link description, Deep link on desktop and Deep link for mobile sections of your ad.
