View and manage your app event data in Events Manager

The App Events page in Events Manager helps you manage and better understand the activities happening in your mobile app. The App Events dashboard shows all of the apps associated with your account, and provides top-level event and activity data. You can compare activity across apps and review activity over time.

Top-level app event metrics

On the App Events summary page, you can find the following insights:

  • Standard Events received: The total number of standard app events received for this app. This does not include custom events.
  • Unique users: The number of unique people who've used your app.
  • Top standard events: The top standard events, ordered by the number of events received.
  • Standard event activity: The number of standard events received over time. This graph helps you quickly identify trends in your recent data so you can troubleshoot any issues with your app event tracking setup.

Detailed app event metrics

On the App Events summary page, click an app name or click Details for more detailed insights and management tools. You can review the number and type of events received, analyse recent event activity or create audiences based on your app data. Refer to the image and descriptions below to learn about the key elements of your app detail page.

1. Time period: Select a preset time period or a specific date range to view.

2. Events tab graph: On the Events tab, the graph shows the number of events received. Use the drop-down menus to select up to three events to view. Hover over points in the graph to see the number of events received for that event, or review the table.

3. Events tab table: On the Events tab, the table shows the current status, as well as the overall activity and total number of events received for the time period selected.

4. Standard events or custom events: Choose whether to view data for the standard events or custom events that you're tracking. Standard events can be used to optimise the delivery of your ads and create custom audiences based on your app event data. If you've applied standard event categories to any of your custom events, you'll see an icon in the Event Name field indicating that the custom events are counting towards your standard event metrics. On your app details page, you can quickly access other related information and tools. Refer to the image above and descriptions below to learn more.

5. Activity tab: Select an event from the list to see the last 100 occurrences of that event. Use the drop-down menus to filter by operating system and app version. This information can help you troubleshoot your app events setup and make sure that the event code is working correctly.

6. Settings tab: Review and manage your ad account assignments. You can also view and access other management options such as sharing with other businesses.

7. Create custom audience: With app event data, you can create custom audiences. Set up an audience with your desired characteristics, and it will continually refresh as event data is received.

8. View analytics: You can use Facebook Analytics to view demographic information and build funnels to better understand actions that people take over time. Learn more about Facebook Analytics.
