Why can't I see the option to choose the collection format?

Collection is available when using the Traffic or Conversions objectives only.

Why can't I preview my collection?

You may need to change the preview option from Desktop News Feed to Mobile News Feed in the Ad Preview window. You can also preview your collection within the Facebook app by clicking .

Collection, catalogues and pixel

Is a catalogue required to use collection?

You do not need a catalogue to create a collection ad. Learn more about the Instant Experience templates.

If I use a catalogue for collection, how many products do I need in my product set?

You need four or more products in your product set to use collection on Facebook (three for Instagram). When someone taps on your collection, people will be able to browse the products from your product set within the Facebook app.

What is the maximum number of products that will be shown?

Up to 50 products from your product set will be shown after someone taps on your ad. While only a maximum of 50 products from your product set can be shown, it's recommended to have more than 50 products set up in your product set overall. When you run out of stock of a certain product, your product set automatically updates to show people items currently in stock. Having a large product set also allows Facebook to select the most relevant products from your product set and encourages people to explore more of the products you offer on your website or app.

Do I need to use a pixel with collection?

If you're using the conversions or Catalogue Sales objective, you'll need to use a pixel.

You don't need to use a pixel for the Traffic or Store Visits objective, but it's recommended if you want to see what happens when people visit your website.

Collection, video and placements

Which videos are supported for collection on Facebook?

Collection on Facebook supports square (1:1), full landscape/horizontal (16:9), slideshow and videos. While you can use vertical video (4:5; 2:3) in a collection ad, bear in mind that it's not optimised for the format.

For Instagram: Square (1:1), full landscape/horizontal (16:9) and slideshow. Aspect ratios higher than 1:1 aren't supported on Instagram.

Can I use collection on Audience Network?

Collection only supports Facebook's mobile News Feed placement and Instagram's feed placement.
