Troubleshooting your Instagram ads
My ad is rendering without the Sponsored label, call-to-action button, offsite link or carousel format.
People will only see your ad's Sponsored label, call-to-action button, offsite link or carousel format if the post is inserted into their feed as an ad. However, there are several cases in which your post may be viewed organically and not as an ad:
- If a person likes, comments or otherwise engages with your Instagram ad, you'll receive a notification. In the notification, your content will appear as an organic post.
- If a person is tagged in a comment within an Instagram ad, that tagged person will receive a notification. However, in this case, your content will appear to that person as an organic post.
- If someone shares your ad through a permalink, your content will appear to anyone who clicks on the permalink as an organic post.
- If a person has been tagged in the comment of a carousel-format ad, the tagged person will only see the image that they were tagged in, not the entire carousel-format post. For example, if a person is tagged in the comment of the third image in the carousel-format post, the tagged person will only see that image. Your content will appear to the tagged person as an organic post.
On organic posts, the Sponsored label, CTA button and carousel format (if applicable) do not appear. The post will not live on an advertiser's organic Instagram page and can only be accessed through notifications. Any organic actions won't be charged against an advertiser's budget.
Why can't I reply to comments on my Instagram ad?
If you're running ads on Instagram but haven't added an Instagram account to your Business Manager or through your Page's settings, you won't be able to reply to comments. If you've done this but still can't reply to comments, check to make sure that you're logged in to your Instagram account.
If you'd like to reply to comments, add your Instagram account to either your Business Manager or through your Page's settings.
