If your ad account is set up for manual payments, you'll have to add money to a prepaid balance on your account before your ads show. Then, we'll deduct from that amount up to once a day as your ads run. You can add money to your balance at any time in your payment settings.

Before you begin

• These steps only apply to advertisers using an ad account set up for manual payments. If you've already advertised on Facebook before, and pay for your ads using PayPal, a credit card or a debit card, your account is set up for automatic payments and will be billed differently. Learn more about the difference between manual and automatic payments.
• Make sure that you're an admin of the ad account that you're trying to add money to. You'll have to be one in order to take the steps on this page. Learn more about ad account roles and permissions.
• While we don't charge a provider fee when you buy ads with a manual payment method, the payment provider for the payment method you use may charge a fee.

Steps to add money to your manual ad account's prepaid balance

1. Go to your payment settings.
2. In the Payment method section, click Add money.

Note: If you don't see this button, first make sure that you're an admin of the ad account that you're trying to add money to. You'll have to be one in order to take the steps on this page. Learn more about ad account roles and permissions.

3. Choose your preferred manual payment method, fill in your information and then click Continue.

Depending on the payment method that you use to add money, your balance will be updated immediately or when you complete your payment. Your payment will also appear in the list of transactions in the Billing section of your Ads Manager, along with other manual payments that you've made on your account.

Steps to remove a manual payment method from your ad account

Once you use a payment method to add money to your prepaid balance, it'll be saved to your ad account. If you no longer want one of your payment methods to be connected to your account, you can remove it by following these steps:

1. Go to your payment settings.
2. Click Remove next to the payment method that you want to remove.
3. In the pop-up window, click Remove to confirm that you want to remove the existing payment method from your ad account.

Your payment method will be removed from your ad account. Bear in mind that your balance will stay the same because the money has already been deposited into your account.
