Business Manager roles and permissions

30/11/2019

The Business Manager is a free platform to manage your business with a two-layer permission model. The two systems of permissions that help businesses securely manage and maintain control of their ad accounts, Pages and catalogues.

What does it mean to have two layers of permissions?

The first permission layer refers to the adding of people to your business as admins or employees. Admins control all components of a Business Manager including modifying or deleting the business and adding or removing people from the employee list. Business employees can view information in business settings but can't make any changes except unless they are assigned as Finance Editor.

The second layer of permissions refers to the access you share with partners or agencies to manage your business assets, such as your Pages or ad accounts. A Page or ad account can only live within a single Business Manager at a time but they can have multiple Partners or individual accounts that access, post and manage ads on its behalf. This shared permission can be rescinded at any time.

How much access should I share with others?

Roles can be assigned to employees, partners or agencies who request access to your business. To maintain the security of your business, it's recommended that you share the least amount of access that will allow them to do their work.
