Create a product set

30/11/2019

A product set is a group of items from your inventory in a catalogue. Product sets allow you to control the items that appear in your ad. When you create a product set, you use filters (such as availability, brand, category, product type or price) to define what goes into the product set. Alternatively, you can create a product set featuring all your products.

Note: Only admins of the catalogue can create a product set. If you need to change your account role, update your settings in Business Manager.

Create a product set

  1. Go to Catalogue Manager.
  2. Choose the catalogue that will contain your new product set.
  3. Click Product sets.
  4. Click Create New Product Set. A window appears where you can add filters for your catalogue.
  5. Enter a name for your product set.
  6. Use the drop-down menus to apply filters to your product set. For example, if you want to create a product set for all clothing greater than £50 in your catalogue, select the drop-down menus Price and Category, and then enter the appropriate values into the text field. The filters then match the column names and products from your product catalogue.
  7. Click Create.

Manage your product set

After you create your product set, you can create an ad that contains the product set, duplicate the product set or delete the product set.

  1. Go to Catalogue Manager.
  2. Choose the catalogue that contains your existing product set.
  3. Click Product sets.
  4. Choose any of the following options:
    • Advertise product set: Create an ad for the product set using quick creation in Ads Manager.
    • Duplicate: Create a copy of the product set and make changes to it by adding or removing additional filters.
    • Delete: Delete the product set.

Editing product sets

You can not currently edit product sets. If you need to change the items in an existing product set, you can duplicate the existing product set and then use the filters available to create a new product set with your updates.

Product set tips

  • Create product sets that help you to organise products by value to your business. For example, you may want to create product sets by category, special promotions or even by product margin. Organising your product sets by value may help you control your bids more effectively so that you can maximise your return on ad spend. You can create as many product sets as you want in a single catalogue.
  • Use multiple categories (for example, all in-stock shoes that are greater than £50) to filter down your product set even further if needed.
  • Avoid creating product sets that are too small. Small product sets may have difficulty getting delivery, especially if they contain products that get very few views.
  • While only catalogue admins can create product sets, anyone with advertiser access or higher in your ad account can still run ads.
  • When using an existing product set, keep an eye on the number of items available in that set to ensure that you select the right one.
