View and print notas fiscais in Ads Manager

30/11/2019
The following information only applies to advertisers in Brazil. If you want to view your Facebook ad receipts and payment history, take these steps.

Notas fiscais are given to advertisers in Brazil on a monthly basis. They serve as a record of ad delivery provided by Facebook to you during the previous month and include information about the services provided (ad delivery), the company that provided you with services (Facebook), and the person or company that received services. They'll also show additional fees and tax details.

Notas fiscais are issued near the beginning of each month for ad delivery and any fees that occurred during the previous month. For example, the nota fiscal you get in August will be for ads you ran in July. You can view your monthly notas fiscais in the Billing section of Ads Manager as they become available.

Things to bear in mind

Here are a few important things about the notas fiscais that you'll receive for Facebook ads:

  • Every ad account based in Brazil is issued one nota fiscal a month. This means that if you use multiple ad accounts, you'll receive multiple notas fiscais each month (one for each ad account).
  • Notas fiscais are only issued for months in which ads were delivered. If you didn't run ads in a particular month, you won't receive a nota fiscal for that month.
  • Notas fiscais first started being issued for Facebook ads in March 2018. No notas fiscais will be provided for ad delivery from before 14 February 2018.
  • A nota fiscal is intended to be a record of ad delivery provided by Facebook to you for the entirety of a given month. The only exception to this is if you received a nota fiscal in March 2018 for ad delivery that occurred in February 2018. Notas fiscais for February 2018 only account for ad delivery from 14 February 2018 to 28 February 2018. For example, if you ran GBP 300 worth of ads from 1 February 2018 to 13 February 2018, and then ran GBP 100 worth of ads from 14 February 2018 to 28 February 2018, the nota fiscal issued to you in March 2018 will only show a total value of GBP 100.

As we aren't able to provide tax advice, we suggest that you contact your country's tax authority for additional information about tax assessment.

Why the amount on your nota fiscal may be different from your regular ads receipts

Each nota fiscal is meant to show ad delivery provided by Facebook to you in a given month as well as additional fees and tax information. However, because a nota fiscal may be issued on a different date than when you paid for ads, the amount on it may be different to what you see on your ads receipts.

This is also the case if you use a manual payment method (e.g. Boleto Bancário) because you might add money to your prepaid balance before the money is actually used to pay for your ads. For example, let's say that you added money to your account last month but don't spend it until this month. The amount you paid won't be reflected in the nota fiscal that you get for last month's ad delivery because it wasn't used in that month.

FAQs

Can I request a nota fiscal for a specific time period?

Notas fiscais will only be issued for ad delivery from the entirety of a given month. In other words, you can't request a nota fiscal for a specific time period.

Can I change the business information that's on my notas fiscais?

Most of the business information in the "Tomador de Servicos" section of your nota fiscal is based on your ad account's CPF or CNPJ registration data with the Municipality of São Paulo or Receita Federal. We suggest that you contact them for help if you want to change the business information that appears on your notas fiscais. Bear in mind that any changes you make will apply only to future notas fiscais. In other words, it is not possible to modify the information on a nota fiscal that has already been issued.

The "Nome/Razão Social" on your notas fiscais is based on the name of your ad account. If you'd like to change what is shown here, you'll have to change the name of your ad account. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Ad account settings in your Ads Manager.
  2. In the Ad account name field, enter the name that you want to use for your ad account.

My business uses monthly invoicing to pay for ads. Where will I get my business' notas fiscais?

If your ad account uses monthly invoicing as its payment method for ads, your notas fiscais will still be available in the Billing section of Ads Manager as normal, and they'll also be sent to the email addresses that receive your invoices each month.
