About monthly invoicing

This article is intended for advertisers who are applying for or already using monthly invoicing to pay for their ads. If you need help with billing and currently pay for ads with a PayPal account, credit card, debit card, bank account or manual payment method, see Billing basics instead.

Large businesses and advertisers can be invited to set up monthly invoicing as a more flexible way to pay for their Facebook ads. With monthly invoicing, you'll still create and run ads like you do normally. However, you'll receive monthly invoices for what your accounts spend in a month, and then you'll have 30 days to pay them from the day that they're issued.

Monthly invoicing will give you more time to pay for ads and reduce the number of transactions that you incur each month. This is because you'll receive just one invoice a month for each of your ad accounts instead of being charged whenever your accounts reach their billing threshold or monthly bill date.

For example, say you spent GBP 100,000 across five different ad accounts last month. If each account has a GBP 1,000 billing threshold, you'd normally be charged 100 times that month as your accounts hit their billing threshold. Instead, with monthly invoicing, you'd receive an invoice for each account (five in total), and then you'd have 30 days to pay the invoices by their due date.

Monthly invoicing is always set up at the business level. This means that your business must be using Business Manager to apply for and use monthly invoicing.

Eligibility

Your business may be eligible to apply for monthly invoicing if it meets some initial requirements. In most cases, these requirements include, but aren't limited to:

  • Having a Facebook account representative.
  • Spending a minimum of GBP 10,000 a month in each of the last three months.

If you meet these requirements, ask your Facebook account representative about applying for monthly invoicing.

Note: Bear in mind that Facebook account representatives are assigned proactively. Currently, there is no process for advertisers to request a personal account manager. If it is determined that your account would benefit from additional account management resources, we'll contact you directly.

Apply for monthly invoicing

If you're invited to apply for monthly invoicing, you'll receive a notification in Business Manager to complete and submit an application for it. To access the application, either click this notification or go to the Payments section of your business settings. Then complete and submit it following the steps below.

Steps to submit the monthly invoicing application
  1. Go to your Business Manager and then click the notification informing you to apply for monthly invoicing.
    • Alternatively, you can go directly to the Payments section of your business settings. In your list of payment methods, there will be an entry that has the same name as your business. Click it to open the application.
  2. Complete all the required fields on the application.
  3. When you're ready to submit the application, click Save. This will submit your application.

After you've submitted the application, we may contact you within two working days for any additional questions about your business or requests for documentation. If you're approved, an option for monthly invoicing will be displayed in the Payments section of your business settings next to your other payment methods (where the application was before). You'll then be able to add it to your ad accounts and start using it to pay for your ads.

How to start using monthly invoicing once you've set it up

If you're approved for monthly invoicing, it'll appear as a payment method in the Payments section of your business settings. You'll then need to add it as the primary payment method of the ad accounts that you want to use it. You can set up monthly invoicing on ad accounts already connected to your Business Manager or new ad accounts that you create from Business Manager. You can also share your monthly invoicing setting with another business so that their ad accounts can spend with it too.
