Fix issues with info saved to Chrome

You can save your contact, payment, and sign-in info to Chrome. If something doesn't work when you let Chrome remember your info, try these fixes.

Stop offering to save my credit card info

If you don't want to ever save your info to Chrome, you can turn off the prompt:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
  3. Under people, click Sync.
  4. Turn off Payment methods and addresses using Google Pay.

Stop offering to save my passwords

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Profile  Profile and then Passwords.
  3. Turn off Offer to save passwords.

Fix your saved info

If your saved info isn’t right, you can edit your info in Chrome. 

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Profile  Profile and then Passwords.
  3. To the right of an incorrect item, click More More and then Edit.

Chrome doesn’t offer to save a payment method

If the website splits the payment form into multiple parts, Chrome might not be able to save your credit card. Instead, use your card by adding it to Google Pay:

  1. Go to pay.google.com.
  2. Select Payment Methods and then Add payment methods.

Chrome doesn't offer to save a password

You can still save your password to Chrome even if you aren't automatically asked to when filling out a form.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Enter your info on the website you want to save the password or card for.
  3. To the right of the address bar, click Key Key and then Save.

If you're on mobile or you don't see the Key icon, delete your password and try signing in again.

Chrome doesn't suggest my saved payment methods

Click on the text field for your credit card. You'll see a list of suggestions based on your saved info.

If you still don't see suggestions, Chrome might not be able to detect the right fields on the website.

You can look up your saved info by following these steps:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Profile  Profile and then Passwords.
  3. To the right of the website, click Preview Preview.

Saved Google Pay card doesn't show up in Chrome

If you want your cards from Google Pay to show in Chrome, turn on your sync settings and turn on Credit cards and addresses using Google Pay.

Fix payment errors

If you’re having issues buying something online, it could be an issue with your card or the site.

"Login not secure" or "Payment not secure" error

If you see a "Login not secure" or "Payment not secure" message, look at the security status:

Unrecognized $0 or $1 charge on your credit card

Google Pay confirms that your credit card is valid with a temporary $0 or $1 charge. It will disappear after 1 to 7 business days, depending on your bank.
