Test and troubleshoot your Facebook events
Events allow you to understand actions people take on your website or app.
Use the Test events tool in Events Manager to help you:
- Check whether you have set up your standard or custom events correctly for your app or website.
- Debug your events if you see any unusual activity.
To test your app or website events
Click on the Test events tab in your Events Manager. Activity is only recorded while the Test events web page is kept open.
If you are testing app events, open your app on your phone. For website events, open your website in a separate window or tab.
Interact with it to test out the events. Your interactions will appear in the Test events tab within 30 seconds.
Any test information will remain in the Test events tab for 24 hours or until your clear it.
(Optional) Click on the filter icon to select what activity types and details are displayed. You can filter by:
Activity types- Automatically logged pixel events. They can include HTML metadata, pixel-specific data, button-click data and page metadata. Learn more.
- Automatically logged app events. They can include when your app is installed or launched and when a purchase is processed. Learn more.
- URL
- Parameters
- Active issues. They can include errors and warnings related to your event setup.
- (Optional) Click Clear Activity once you've finished testing events. The activity will still appear in your Events Manager, Ads reporting and Audience creation results.
Connection troubleshooting
If your events are not appearing in the Test events tab within one minute, try the following steps to start seeing events:
Pixel troubleshooting
- Disable any ad blockers you are using.
- Refresh your website and try interacting with it again.
App troubleshooting
- Force quit your app on your phone, then restart it.
- Make sure that you're logged in to the Facebook app on your phone.
