Find the aspect ratio of your image

Choosing the right aspect ratio when you create an ad is important to make sure that it displays well on both phones and computers.
Because most people hold their phones upright, we recommend aspect ratios that cover a lot of the screen, such as square and vertical.
Aspect ratios are also important in ensuring that your ad delivers. Custom cropped images may not deliver to all placements. Learn more
You can either adjust your image aspect ratio (in Photoshop or another editing tool) and upload it again, or use the cropping tools in Ads Manager.
To find out the aspect ratio of your image:
First, find out the dimensions of your image in pixels. Learn how
The aspect ratio describes the relationship between the width (the first number) and the height (the second number).
For example:
- Images that are 1,600 pixels x 900 pixels and 3,200 pixels x 1,800 pixels are in the 16:9 aspect ratio.
- Images that are 1,600 pixels x 1,600 pixels and 3,200 pixels x 3,200 pixels are in the 1:1 aspect ratio.
