You can add additional features to the creative in a dynamic ad (such as an offer or a slideshow).

In this article:

Offers

Offers are discounts you can share with people who view your ad on Facebook. When you add an offer to your dynamic ad, your offer appears as a card in the carousel. People can then interact with the card to claim the offer.

Note: You can only use carousel as your ad format when you add an offer to a dynamic ad.

  1. Go to ad creation and start creating your dynamic ad.
  2. At the ad set level, click the toggle in the Offers section to turn on offers.
  3. Choose the Page representing your offer, then click Create Offer.
  4. Add details about your offer (such as redemption information or unique codes), then click Create.

Note: In the preview window, you can see different examples of how your offer appears when people view more details about it. Details page shows you how the offer looks when you finish designing it, while Notification and Email show the reminder messages people receive after they redeem your offer.
  5. At the ad level, select an image for the offer card. The image appears at the beginning of the carousel in your dynamic ad and directly in the offer.

Slideshow

When you create a dynamic ad using the carousel ad format, you have the option of adding a slideshow to the carousel cards. Slideshow is a customised, high-quality ad that you create without the expense or challenges of video production. Slideshow combines multiple images or videos to capture your audience's attention and tell a story.

To use slideshow in your dynamic ad, you need to use the carousel ad format and have multiple images for at least 100 items (or at least 20% of the items) in your product set.

Note: Dynamic ads with slideshow play on Facebook feeds on smartphones, tablets and computers. For Instagram and Audience Network, all items in the slideshow appear as static images instead.

To add a slideshow to your dynamic ad:

  1. Go to ad creation and start creating your dynamic ad.
  2. At the ad level, choose Carousel as your ad format.
  3. Scroll to the Links section.
  4. Under Catalogue assets, click Show a slideshow when available.
  5. Note: If your product set doesn't include any items with multiple images, this option is not available.

Fixed cards

When you use carousel as your ad format, you can add fixed cards to the beginning and/or ending of your dynamic ad. When you add a fixed card, you can introduce a message, concept or theme about the products you're selling. For example, you could add a fixed card at the beginning of the ad that introduces your brand and encourages people to swipe and browse your products.

To add a fixed card:

  1. Go to ad creation and start creating your dynamic ad.
  2. At the ad level, choose Carousel as your ad format.
  3. Scroll to the Links section.
  4. Choose your fixed card options:
    • Add a card with a fixed image at the beginning: Add a fixed card to the beginning of the carousel ad. You can choose an image, video or slideshow and then customise the text that appears in the fixed card.
    • Add a card at the end with your Page profile picture: Add a fixed card to the end of the carousel ad. The fixed card uses the current profile picture for your business' Facebook Page. You can customise the website link that people visit when they interact with the card.

Customisable ad copy

The ad copy for dynamic ads can be altered to include text from your catalogue. By default, dynamic ads include the product name and current price of your products, but you can choose to incorporate other fields from the catalogue or not to update any of the text dynamically.

To update the text in the product cards:

  1. Go to ad creation and start creating your dynamic ad.
  2. At the ad level, choose your ad format.
  3. Scroll to the Links section.
  4. In the Text, Headline and News Feed link description fields, click + and choose the fields you want to add to the product cards

Note: If you choose to add a fixed card to the beginning of your ad, click the three horizontal dots to edit the Text and News Feed link description.

  5. To remove a field, click x next to the field.
