People in supported countries who haven't advertised with Facebook before can create an ad account set up for manual payments. Manual ad accounts are ad accounts that use a manual payment method (e.g. Boleto Bancário or Alipay) to pay for Facebook ads.

When your ad account is set up for manual payments, you'll manually add money to a prepaid balance on your ad account before your ads run. Then as you advertise on Facebook, we'll deduct from the money you added up to once a day to pay for your ads.

Things to bear in mind

• Once you create an ad account that's set up for manual payments, that's how you'll pay for all your ads. While you may be able to add funds to your account with a credit or debit card, you won't be able to switch to automatic payments.
• If you already advertise on Facebook and your ad account is set up for automatic payments, you won't be able to add a manual payment method to your account. Learn more about other accepted payment options for Facebook ads.
• After you create a manual ad account, you won't be able to change the tax country of your ad account.

Create a new ad account with manual payments

1. Start creating a Facebook ad.
2. When entering your account info, make sure that the Account country and Currency you select match the manual payment method you want to use.
3. When you confirm your ad purchase, you'll be asked to choose a payment method. Select your manual payment method and then click Continue.
4. Review the confirmation screen and then click Continue.
5. Enter your business details and payment amounts and then click Make payment.
6. Follow the instructions to add money to your account. These steps will vary depending on the payment method you selected.

Your ad account will be set up for manual payments. Depending on the payment method you used to add money, your balance will be updated immediately or when you complete your payment.

Why can't I add a manual payment method to my account?

If you're having trouble with adding a manual payment method to your Facebook ad account:

• First make sure that the manual payment method you want to use is an accepted option for Facebook ads. Bear in mind that both the country and currency of your ad account must match the country and currency of your desired payment method in order to use it.
• You may already be using an ad account set up for automatic payments. If you already advertise on Facebook using PayPal or a credit or debit card, you won't be able to add a manual payment method to your account. Learn more about other accepted payment options for Facebook ads.
