Create a collection ad with dynamic ads targeting
You can create a collection ad using dynamic ads targeting, either by retargeting people who have expressed interest in your products before or by targeting a broad audience of people who may be interested in similar products to yours.
Collection includes a Canvas that opens instantly when someone interacts with your ad on a mobile device. You can start with a template or use a custom layout to feature images, videos, products and call-to-action buttons that link to your website or app. In this article, you'll learn how to create a collection using one of the templates:
- Sell products (grid layout): Showcase products in a grid layout so that people can browse more of your products in one place. When you use this layout, you can show up to 50 products from your catalogue.
- Sell products (lifestyle layout): Let people explore your products in action by featuring them in lifestyle images. When you use this layout, you can tag products in the lifestyle images from your catalogue, providing an interactive shopping experience to people who view the ad.

Before you begin
To use dynamic ads targeting in your collection ad, you need:
- A catalogue. A catalogue contains product information for all items that you'd like to advertise with your Facebook ads.
- The Facebook pixel. The Facebook pixel is an analytics tool that allows you to measure the effectiveness of your advertising and understand the actions people take on your website.
- Ad images and/or videos. The images or videos will be used for the main creative that appears above the four images when people scroll through News Feed and find your ad, and when they open up your collection ad. For video, 1:1 or 16:9 aspect ratios are recommended. For images, an image size of 1,200 x 628 pixels is recommended.

Recommendations
Products- As a minimum, you need at least four products to use collection, but it's recommended to use a large product set (more than 50) in case products go out of stock. When you run out of stock of a certain product, your product set automatically updates to show people items currently in stock. A large product set also allows Facebook to select the most relevant products from your product set and encourages people to explore more of the products that you offer on your website or in your app.
- Keep your images and/or videos within specific design parameters for optimal performance. For images, an image size of 1,200 x 628 pixels is recommended. For video, 1:1 or 16:9 aspect ratios are recommended. If you're using the Sell products (Lifestyle layout) template, you can add two or more lifestyle images to the ad. For lifestyle images, 1:1 aspect ratios are recommended. These images automatically fit to width when you add them to your ad.
- If you're using a 360 video for your main creative, you won't be able to preview the video before you publish the ad. Learn more about adding 360 videos on Facebook.
- Choose various different products for the images below your main creative so that people tap More and discover more of your products.
- When you add a link to your ad, send people to a destination that includes more products than what you're showing in the ad.
- Add URL parameters to the right location when you create the ad. If you add the URL parameters to your destination URL, you'll track the number of people who click the link to your website and not on your products.
