Create ads using dynamic creative

Dynamic creative is not compatible with dynamic language optimisation or asset customisation.

Dynamic creative is currently available for auction buying (not reach and frequency) and the objectives Brand Awareness, Reach, Traffic, App Installs and Video Views, Lead Generation and Conversions.

Dynamic creative can also be used with the import/export feature in Ads Manager if you prefer to create and edit ads in bulk. Learn how to import/export ads.

Create a dynamic creative ad in Ads Manager quick creation
  1. Click .
  2. Create new campaign as usual.
  3. Create new ad set as usual. If you are duplicating an ad set, you cannot duplicate a non-dynamic creative ad set and then enable dynamic creative.
  4. Click Save to draft.
  5. Toggle dynamic creative on at the ad set level.

    Fill in the rest of the ad set level as usual.

  6. At the ad level, choose either Ad with an image or video or Ad with multiple images in a carousel.
  7. Upload your assets, making sure they can all be combined and make sense together.

    Note: The maximum number of assets is 30. You can use ten images/videos, five text options, five headlines, five link descriptions and five CTAs. The Lead Generation objective doesn't support multiple lead generation forms.

    • If you chose Ad with an image or video, upload multiple images by clicking Select Images. To upload multiple videos, click Video/Slideshow. You can only select one video at a time; once you've selected Done, click Video/slideshow again to add another.
    • If you chose Ad with multiple images in a carousel, the number of cards in your carousel is the same as the number of image/video assets that you input. Instead of defining assets for each carousel card, input multiple images/videos/text assets and our system will automatically generate multiple carousel cards arranged in various orders.
    • Upload multiple text assets, headlines and link descriptions by clicking + Add.
    • Choose multiple CTAs using the drop-down menu.
  8. Preview variations of your ad, when you're ready, by clicking View more variations.

  9. Once you've edited your campaign details, you have two options:
    1. Publish your campaign immediately by clicking Publish.
    2. Save your campaign details as a draft by clicking Close. You can publish later by clicking Review and publish.
Create a dynamic creative ad in Ads Manager guided creation

Dynamic creative ads in guided creation are being rolled out gradually. You may not see this option yet. Dynamic creative ads in guided creation can only be created using the Traffic objective, and do not support the carousel format.

  1. Open guided creation in Ads Manager.
  2. Choose the Traffic objective and then continue to the ad set level.
  3. Toggle on Dynamic creative near the top of the page. Fill in the ad set level and continue to the ad level.
  4. Choose single image, single video or slideshow.
  5. Upload your image, video or slideshow assets.

    • If you chose single image, upload your first image by clicking Browse library, Free stock images or + Upload images. You can then add more images (up to ten in total) by clicking Browse library, Free stock images or + Add more images.
    • If you chose single video, upload your first video by clicking +, Upload video or Browse library. You can then add more videos (up to ten in total) by clicking + Add video.
    • If you chose Slideshow, upload your first slideshow by clicking Browse library or Create slideshow. Use Browse library to upload slideshows or Create slideshow to create new slideshows. You can then add more slideshows (up to ten in total) by clicking Browse library or Create slideshow.

  6. Upload your text assets:

    • Upload text and a headline, as well as up to four additional text assets and up to four additional headline assets by clicking + Add.
    • Choose your website URL.
    • Click Advanced options if you want to choose settings for your URL link. Here, you can add a News Feed link description and up to four additional link descriptions by clicking + Add.
    • Choose up to five call-to-action options from the drop-down menu. They will appear listed below the drop-down menu as you select them.

  7. Click View more variations to preview some variations of your ad.

  8. When you're ready, click Confirm to run your ad after review.
