Ongoing promotions
An ongoing promotion is a type of ad you create from your Page that runs continuously, unless you decide to pause or stop it.
When you create an ongoing promotion:
- Your ongoing promotion will be reviewed, and you'll get a notification once your promotion is approved.
- You'll be able to view and manage your ongoing promotion when you go to the Promotions tab on your Page or by clicking the manage promotions link below the blue Promote button on your Page.
- You'll be able to edit, pause or cancel your ongoing promotion at any time.
Features of an ongoing promotion:
- Choose your own daily budget: You can choose your own daily budget or select a recommended daily budget when you create your ad. Bear in mind that the minimum amount you can spend per day on your ongoing promotion may vary based on the type of ongoing promotion that you create. If the budget you select is too low, you'll be prompted to select a different budget.
- Include images from your Page: These promotions use pre-selected images from your Page that have had strong engagement as compared to other images on your Page. Bear in mind that if your Page doesn't have many images added, you may see fewer or no pre-selected images when you create your ad. If this is the case, you can upload images to use in your ads.
- Updates provided to help you improve: You'll be eligible to receive emails and notifications with suggestions about when to update your ad images to improve performance.
After your promotion starts running and collecting results, you'll get emails recommending that you update your ongoing promotion with suggested images. You can run multiple ongoing promotions from your Page, and each ongoing promotion may contain up to six ads. You can edit your ongoing promotion's details and budget, or cancel your ongoing promotion at any time.

Promotions that don't run continuously
Promotions that don't run continuously are promotions you create from your Page that have a set duration (e.g. a set date for when the promotion will automatically turn off).
If you'd like to run or learn more about promotions that include set durations, take a look at the options below for some of the available ad types.
Features of promotions that don't run continuously include:

What to expect with your ongoing promotion:
- Ongoing promotions use an average daily budget that you select.
- You can increase or decrease your daily budget at any time. However, bear in mind that the minimum amount you can spend per day on your ongoing promotion may vary based on the type of ongoing promotion that you create. If the budget you select is too low, you'll be prompted to select a different budget.
Create an account spending limit:
Setting an account spending limit will help ensure that you don't exceed your budget. We recommend creating an account spending limit before or directly after creating promotional ads from your business Page. An account spending limit sets an overall limit on the amount of money you're willing to spend on Facebook ads. Learn how to set an account spending limit.
View your billing history:
You can go to the Billing section of Ads Manager to view your billing history. You may be billed differently based on the country you're from and how you've set up your payment method.
Edit your payment options:
You can also add, edit and remove payment options from Ads Manager. Once you've made your changes, they should be reflected in the Payments section of the promotion you're creating from your business Page.
