Adding your advertising platforms to Facebook Attribution is an easy way to apply click and impression tags provided by Facebook to your off-Facebook media in order to leverage Facebook's people-based, cross-device measurement solutions. When you place click and impression tags on a third-party advertising platform, your clicks and impressions are captured and included in your Facebook Attribution reporting. When you're able to compare your ad performance across platforms, you can get a more complete picture of your conversion path. If you advertise across multiple publishers or on other platforms, you can add these platforms by following the instructions below.

To add a platform to Facebook Attribution:

  1. Go to Facebook Attribution.
  2. Click Settings > Ad platforms.
  3. Click Connect platform.
  4. Select a platform from the list, then click Choose. If you don't see the platform that you're looking for, select Custom Platform. Setup will vary depending on the type of platform you choose.
  5. After you select a platform, follow the on-screen instructions to navigate to the platform, install the tags and set up the mapping and cost data import. You can also reference the full step-by-step instructions in the corresponding guides below.

There are three main types of platform configurations:

  • Preconfigured: Dynamic macro-enabled tags are provided for the selected platform.
  • Manual configuration or custom platform: Build your own dynamic or site-served tags with the tag builder.
  • API connection: Use the email form to send a request to have the API connection configured for you.
